    All Stainless/Silicone Siphon Starter

Well I got my pro brewers siphon... finally. Aaaaaaaaand it doesn't work. I followed the instructions and even soaked the racking cane gasket in hot water, but no matter what it would not come close to forming a seal. I tried visiting the website they had listed on the instructions &#8211...

    Grainfather!!

Howdy folks! I have read through most of this massive thread but couldn't find an answer to my question and messaging the Grainfather people hasn't been a help. I am wondering how to tell which is the latest generation of Grainfather when shopping around? I know there have been at least 2-3...

Bru Gear ProFermenter 14 Gallon Review

Can the OP verify if the Bru Gear has volume markings? If so, are they etched? I am torn between these two conicals and am having real trouble deciding which route to go. I like all of the features and sanitary valves of the Bru Gear, but I can get a 1/2 bbl SS Chronical for the same price...

Brew Pal software in the iTunes App Store

Did he make any changes? It's still is totally worse than the original. Layout is poor and there are a lot of features that are hidden. Now I have to go into "Fermentables" to get a quick glimpse to see what my pre-boil gravity is supposed to be. An is there still no way to "stop" a recipe. I...

Brew Pal software in the iTunes App Store

I, like most of you, was super excited about the update and just downloaded it right away. What a mistake that was! This is so much harder to navigate, features are gone, no batch size adjustment, no hydrometer temp correction. Very poor. I am hoping the update resolves a lot of this. I miss my...

    Aeration

I do this every time I brew, and I have had awesome luck with it. Good fermentations and really clear beers.

    Stone "Sublimely Self-Righteous" Ale

Yes, it is a Black IPA/CDA style. I believe it is all pale malt and carafa malt, with Centennials as the hop. So simple, but so delicious.

    Black IPA Help

+1 on leaving out the roast. I would up your carafa amount, instead. I believe Stone Sublimely Self Righteous uses only pale and carafa malt and all centennial hops.

    Torrified Buckwheat

I just noticed the torrified buckwheat at Rebel too. This may be a dumb question, but is torrified mean it is malted? I was going to try my hand at malting buckwheat (3-4 pounds of it) for my Buh' Wheet Porter, but maybe this is an option??? Oh, and if anyone has a higher resolution version of...

I need my Wit to be done in 3 days! HELP!

Well AFTER I made this beer, I read that 3944 takes an unusually long time to ferment out. Still, you'd think a big starter on a lower OG beer would produce a little faster result.

I need my Wit to be done in 3 days! HELP!

I brewed a belgian wit with Wyeast# 3944 Belgian Witbier yeast on 7/2, the OG was 1.041. I pitched a half gallon starter and it took off like gangbusters within a few hours. Well it has been over a week and it is STILL fermenting. I checked the gravity a couple days ago and it was only at 1.021...

    Lagering Freezer or Wrangler...

A 2011 Wrangler? I didn't even know they were out yet! What difference is there between the 2010 and 2011 models? My wife and I are wanting to get a JK Unlimited, but have to wait until the truck is paid off (next year). :P Plus I want to see if they put the Pentastar engine in the 2012...

Questioning my IPA hop schedule... Too much?

I am using the Bell's Two Hearted grain bill, so it should be a nice base. I definitely want those citrusy/piney hops to be the focus, but I want it to be balanced too.
