    unfermentable sugars affect FG

That's the plan then. I'm definitely in no hurry, just never made that big of a mistake with temps before so I'm a little gooned out. Thanks for your help. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

    unfermentable sugars affect FG

Thanks for the quick response. Heres the facts: Post boil gravity was 1.050 which was right on. After 7 days at the ideal temp for the strain it read 1.030. I guess my real question and or concern is at what point can i trust the gravity reading to be stable enough to bottle. I dont...

    unfermentable sugars affect FG

Brewed up a Gose and missed my mash temp... Way too high at 165. anyway my question is this: How do these unfermentable sugars affect gravity readings? Hit my post boil reading pretty right on but im wondering how much is actually fermentable. also how will this affect my final gravity to...

    Sanctuary Gose

So i brewed a similar grain bill to this on sunday the 13th. I missed the mash temp severely mashing in at 165!!! I know, step up my game. Any way, pre boil OG was 1.038, post boil was 1.050. I used WL 500 trappist. fermented at 73 degree. I took a reading today and its 1.030. Taste is...

I too usually rack to a secondary but this is my first saison and I wanted to stick as close to your original recipe. Thanks. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

    Saison Cottage House Saison

@ azscoob... This may have already been covered, but after reading a LOT of these pages I couldnt find the answer to this. Did you rack this off into secondary after two weeks or did you just let it ride in the primary for the whole go?

    Tart of Darkness

Wondering what your ferm temperature has been. Been almost three weeks for me at 63-65 and I still have activity although it has slowed to a bubble every few minutes. I know Brett likes higher temps in the 70s but with a lack of ferm chamber I rely on ambient temps.

    Tart of Darkness

So I brewed this on the ninth of this month and have had strong fermentation since. The krausen completely filled the head space in my 6 gallon better bottle, even flowing through the blow tube. My question is if and or when the krausen falls, or does not, will it affect the pellicle growth...

Impact of freezing on Wyeast Pack?

I recently had a Roselare smack pack show up frozen. Thawed it out, smacked it, and within four hours it was fully ballooned and swollen. Pitched it into a stout and it is Rollin!!

Wyeast 3763 Roeselare showed up at my door frozen :(

Ended up being a beautiful day today so I fired up. Smacked my Roselare and within an hour it started to puff up nicely. After four hours it was fully ballooned and fat. I guess that frozen pack wasnt an issue.

Wyeast 3763 Roeselare showed up at my door frozen :(

My roselare just arrived at the door slushy. I'm planning on either brewing tomorrow or Saturday morning. I'm just gonna smack it and see what happens. Worst case scenario I'll just head to my LHBS and pitch with an alternative. Just glad to see you guys had success with your frozen packs.
