How do I know if my keg is carbonated?

I usually set it to 50 PSI for about 24 hours and it’s in the range of fully carbonated, at least good enough to start drinking. I then drop it to 10-12 and it levels out over the next week but I can already drink it. It usually gets better over the week as the yeast falls out

    Cacao Nib Tincture

Thanks @day_trippr! That’s what I thought. Also figured it’s really not too much being added to 5 gals so couldn’t hurt!

    Cacao Nib Tincture

I made up a tincture using 4 oz of cacao nibs and some Everclear (151 proof). After letting them soak for a week, I strained the nibs and threw it in the freezer. I’ve seen people talk about a fat cap to scrape off at the top but did not see much. There was little bits of stuff floating on the...

    3D Printed Tap Handles

I created an account to download and like it. Maybe some day I will get a use out of it, but thought I’d make a small impact! Prost!

Greetings from South Florida! (Miami/FL Keys)

I really liked the venue at Unbranded. Only been a couple times. Haven’t been to, but I’ve enjoyed some of the beers from Islamorada Brewing.m from the keys. There’s also Florida Keys brewery. Can’t remember any beers in particular but I talked my way into one of their mermaid tap handles at a...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

It will work, yes. It’s not best practice as you increase potential for contamination unless you can boil and cool the top off water ahead of time. There’s also “issues” with hop utilization if you don’t do full volume. But oh well. It will most likely still make a great beer. When you can, get...

When you mentioned winery I wondered if it was Schnebly’s. Cool place! I never got a chance to hit up Dogfish once they opened, but I loved Concrete Beach that was there before. Really loved the venue. Beat Culture is a cool little one. Went there once and they had an Alt on tap that was pretty...

One of my favorites is in Homestead, Miami Brewing Co. awesome venue. Beers aren’t anything phenomenal but they’re decent. Frequented M.I.A. in Doral. If you’re into sours, check out Tripping Animals. Also from Doral. Wynwood has a handful of cool places as well.

Alternative to Bulky Corny for Pumping Sanitizer, PBW Through Beer Line?

There’s a small post on the underside of there’s a post on the underside of the cap you could take a small piece of tubing, 3/8 was a little loose still, and put it in there so it would draw from the bottom. That way you don’t need turn it upside down and don’t have to worry about anything...

Alternative to Bulky Corny for Pumping Sanitizer, PBW Through Beer Line?

Alternative to Bulky Corny for Pumping Sanitizer, PBW Through Beer Line?

Get one of the fermzilla ball lock caps. It screws onto a pop bottle or a spray bottle. Fill it with starsan/pbw/oxi. Then you can put your disconnect right on it. Open the tap and squeeze. $7 or so.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Rebrewing my previous beer because it went way to fast. Think it only lasted 2 weeks in the keg. I think it’s a cream ale, haven’t figured out what to call it exactly. I used US05 at 60° last time but going to try using Bell’s House yeast from imperial (since it’s almost Oberon day). Think it’ll...
