I just got the oktober BenchMK can seamer and canned my first keg. Everything seemed to go well seaming the cans and a rinsed each can off after seaming. However I appear to be having quite a few cans with beer leaking from the seam.
Attached is a pic of one of the worst ones. The thing is...
Does anyone have the BenchMk Can Seamer? Can I get a photo of the backside of?
I'm curious if the profile would allow a small DC motor to be attached to it and a belt driven wheel attached to the drive rod. It seems that adding a $40 high torque motor to this canner will give me essentially...
@Kickass When I first created this recipe that's what I read, don't use a lot of honey malt because it will over power everything else....
But I never got that. I've used up to 2lb before. I like the sweetness it imparts on the beer. 2lb is on the high side though. I feel like heavy on the...
@Coastalbrew I think it just adds a nice sweetness that cuts through the spice of the rye. I love it. Like I said in my first post I typically make this into an Amber, but I wanted to see what it would taste like being more dry and hoppy.
I'll let you know. Although I'm not sure what I'm...
Thanks, I swapped out the Barley for Rye and removed the baking soda.
Unfortunately, I realized I was measuring my hops in grams instead of ounces with only 15 min left in the boil, so I just dumped in the rest of the Magnum and Simcoe. BrewersFriend has my IBU back to where it should be...
I make a Mango habanero blonde and add one habanero to the boil with 10 mins left. I add another from a tincture into the secondary along with the mango in a muslin bag.
Doing this I've never gotten the taste of the habanero, but I always feel a warm burn at the back of the throat like you'd...
Hey all,
I've been brewing this for awhile now as an Amber but want to change it up to be more of a pale ale feel to be more dry and hop forward. Let me know if you think this will fit that bill.
Batch Size 5.5 Gal
Water profile target:
Ca 50
Mg 15
Na 15
CL 50
SO4 110
HCO 45
Distilled Water...
I'm going to attempt a Shandy this week and want some advice on what I'm thinking since I'm primarily an Ale brewer with a few lagers under my belt.
I'm going to brew a 4 gal typical Pilsner. 24ish IBU and 5%. Then filter it with a 1 micron filter to remove the yeast and then keg it on top of...
Just want to give a big thanks to @Thorrak for answering my questions while building this. Still have to clean things up, but Fermentrack is working nicely on my DIY glycol set-up.
Did an extreme test to see how fast it could cool down my hot tap water. I got it from 120F to 60F in just under...
Yea, I'm guess this is why it worked for me. When Fermentrack couldn't find it I used an IDE to upload a sketch with my SSID and password. Thats how I was able to ping it, and I'm guessing how Fermentrack was able to see it.
**Edit. I got it to work. No idea how though, I re-started it again (for the, had to be 20th time) and it finally showed up in the guided walkthrough.
Ok sorry again, but this is driving me nuts.
I've successfully flashed the D1 mini with the wifi firmware. and when I try to follow the...
Ok, another Noob question about my Fermentrack build...
I have all the components wired up, Fermentrack is running on my Pi. However, when I go to flash my ESP8266 the software cannot find it. I am using the D1 mini, so it has the usb to serial chip.
How to I get this thing flashed? Do...
