I had it fermenting for a week, as the instructions said. I'm assuming the shorter fermenting time is because it's a 3 gallon instead of 5 gallon batch. Does the smell indicate that I might of bottled to early?
I just bottled my first all grain. It's a Belgium White... taste was fine, but it literally smelled like a fart. Maybe the yeast? I'm doing 3 gallon small batches. Here's the measurements.

My first batch was a decent brown ale. Nothing great but totally drinkable. Some of them had some real off favors tho. Maybe I didn't sanitize those bottle good enough? They all went through the same sanitizing tho. Any ideas?

Is this true? Is there any type of brew that might be more "forgiving" for a beginner? My first batch...
First brew day is complete! First batch was an American Wheat Ale, hopefully it turns out ok.
I'm a little worried because everything I've read said that the wort should be boiled violently, mine wasn't doing that. I put the lid on from time to time to give it a little more action, but for...
