inspired me to make something... working on the 'heater paint can" thing.
I found an old battery operated furnace thermostat, a light bulb socket and wired it up. Plugged her in and set the temp. The light bulb kicks on when it goes below and off when over! Total stroke of luck that it worked...
that's about what mine looks like... I have a Euro size Köstrizer keg that I mash in. I have a 10" false bottom connected to a tube that goes to the outlet valve.
I even use a pump with it and the false bottom keep the grains high enough that it does just fine.
It maxes out at about 36-37lbs...
all the details you need right here:

and the coolest part: one entry from Traditional Bock (5B) to be used as recipe for special 2012 Christian Moerlein Bock release! :mug:
both the Kris Krunkles and the Chairman Meow ought to win something! great stuff...
AND, as a two time HM in the contest it's worth sending in something even if it's hand drawn. the stamp is worth the prizes!
I had the Head Crusher Barleywine label in 2010 and the Drs. Orders IPA in 2009.
not...
I have to say, that's just about THE COOLEST way to lock/unlock taps I've seen yet. wish I could afford/have the knowledge to do stuff like that!
cheers
Hey fellow HBT homebrewers... looking for a fun homebrew competition this August?
On August 21 Bloatarian Brewing League will again host Beer & Sweat (so named as the time of year is quite hot). This event is unique as it's a KEG-ONLY competition. All entries must be in a keg... no bottles...
sorry a reply has taken so long. i'm still new here and just found it. Barrelhouse closed as a brewpub a few years ago but they are now strictly a microbrewery and sell kegs as well as have taps at a number of local restaurants. They also bottle 22oz'ers of about 4 or 5 styles. Worth picking up...
not in any particular order, except for maybe for the first one. All genres, styles, substyles, etc are in my iTunes but I listen to these artists most.
Ryan Adams (no this is NOT bryan adams the crappy canadian singer)
Josh Rouse
Jesse Malin
Kings of Leon
New Pornographers
Interpol...
