Brew Beer with the BeagleBone Black

Just a round-up of BBB based or compatible brewing projects that I'm aware of. Brewery Automation BoneBrews (as the author posted here): http://www.bonebrews.com/ StrangeBrew Elsinore (works on BBB): https://github.com/DougEdey/SB_Elsinore_Server I'm just starting my own: MechaBrew...

    Alternative to Auber PT100 RTDs?

Thanks. I checked Amazon but just found stuff sold by Auber. I've occassionally gotten some real crap on eBay in the past so I actually didn't check there. But thanks, I'll look into that one. Do you own any of those eBay PT100s?

Source Code Sharing for Raspberry, Beaglebone, and Arduino?

I've just started to build an Electric RIMS brewery using a BeagleBone Black, PT100 RTDs and a web interface to control everything. I'll start posting my code on github within the next couple of weeks. Right now I just checked in some framework code: https://github.com/BrewSession/mecha-brew...

    Beaglebone Black as brewcontroller

Finally getting started after some (life happens type) setbacks. I got my RIMS tube but am still awaiting my temp sensor. I'll be posting code at: And getting some blog posts going on this project shortly (showing both hardware and software aspects). Also, there are now a couple BBB...

    Alternative to Auber PT100 RTDs?

I was just wondering if anyone knows of another company selling PT100 RTD temp sensors that have the same available (1/4"-1/2" NPT, leak proof, etc) form factor as Auber's. I've googled around quite a bit and didn't see much of anything. However, that doesn't mean they don't exist...

    Beaglebone Black as brewcontroller

After looking at the couple of other BBB compatible brewery projects out there, I think I'm still going to chart out and do my own (for various reasons which are probably pointless to elaborate on). Right now it's looking like: the BBB, Node.js, BoneScript, Socket.io, and possibly ReactJS for...

Grain too old to brew with?

I just discovered a bag of mixed grain I crushed 5 or so months ago for a batch, and then never got around to brewing. It's been stored in a cool, dry dark place, but 5 months is a long time. What do you think? Toss it? Or might it still be used to brew a good beer?

    Beaglebone Black as brewcontroller

Thanks. That looks interesting. In Java though - means I can't help out. :) My BBB arrives on Tuesday so I'll install StrangeBrew it and check it out. Also, can't use analog temp probes with his software, which I have a couple of from a friend already. Still...definitely worth checking out.

    Beaglebone Black as brewcontroller

Found this project that is compatible with BeagleBone Black. Not sure what state it's in. Will check out in the next couple of days. https://github.com/jsproull/kriek

    Beaglebone Black as brewcontroller

I checked those out. I would guess they're not food-grade plastic though (I'm anal that way). Could you find any info about that? Also rated to just 80C (176F) which is ok, but on the brink of being not capable of sparge water temps (some people use 180+F). I'll have my BeagleBone Black...

    Beaglebone Black as brewcontroller

I just bought a BeagleBone Black as well to control an E-HERMS system I'm putting together - very loosely based on this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtRK8vQVcfM Have any of you started writing code yet? I'm going to start soon and will post it to github. Maybe something collaborative...
