    How long to ferment?

Some ferment up to 8 weeks. That beer wouldn't hurt to sit in primary for 3-4 weeks. The yeast does a lot of cleaning up in that time and the taste will drastically improve. Unless you're moving to secondary for dry hopping, one week is simply too short.

    Hi everyone!

Welcome! It's a wonderful world. Don't get discouraged by early failures, you'll work things out in time.

I'm very concerned. Just on my second brew now, and everyone that has tasted my first brew has survived so far. I have access to some analytical equipment and I can find NO arsenic compounds in my first beer, and worse, in my second beer! I knew I was going to be no good at this hobby.

Looks really great. Only tricky part is going to be harvesting those flowers from the top :D

    What are you drinking now?

Santa Fe's Imperial Java Stout. Only had one and it's showing it's imperial authority over my brain.

Hello everyone! I joined the site and got hooked to the wonders of homebrewing when I was 18 years old, which is five years ago now. I brewed one batch of beer, which was supposed to be a pale ale, bottled after three days and had one very sweet batch of beer that people raved about. Then...
