Electric newb - venturing into a 30a HERMS

Don't think about that gfci, do. You must be safe brother. Otherwise I think your plans sound solid. I'd do 240v service with 5500w elements for a faster brew day and to allow for expansion if you move up to 10g.

    120V Blichman BoilCoil

Just remember that gfci is crazy important in this situation which I'm sure you do, just covering the bases.

    120V Blichman BoilCoil

You could get a heatstick from Bobby at brewhardware.com and run it off another gfci circuit assuming you have more than just one in your kitchen.

    2 x 5500 watt ripple elements in 1 kettle

I think stacking would take a little away from the thermal efficiency. Personally I'd set a 45 degree to 90 degree offset to maximize the efficiency.

    2 x 5500 watt ripple elements in 1 kettle

That's why I asked. I think this system might be a little overkill.

Step by Step build a 110v portable PID controller

Thanks for this post. I just built one and I love it. I got my hands on a turbo 500 boiler brand new for $50 and use this with is like a grainfather setup only I use it to do a precise mash only and run off to my boil kettle.
