    Safbrew abbaye

I am currently fermenting a brew with these yeast, and unlike what I've read here, I don't get any sulphur at all. In fact, I get an awesome smell which is sweet slightly peppery with definitely pear and even some cinnamon (although this could partly come from the fact that I have thrown in...

Too much dark malts and roasted barley in my stout?

Mine turned out fine in the end. In the beginning the balance was a bit off, with a lot of chocolate/coffee flavor, but for the rest a very dry, low body stout, but now a few months later it is much more balanced. I am going to try this recipe again with a more base malts.

    when can I drink!

My first brew is conditioning now, but since it is my first, I open and drink a bottle once every few days just to see how it develops. Two weeks now, already opened 6 bottles and it is starting to taste like something. This way I'll probably finished most of it before it reaches its peak, but...

    Recipe advice

Thanks, I brewed yesterday, got an o.g. of 1.049 out of it. I wondered about the cascades as well, but my last beer was all saaz, and I never used cascades so I'd thought to give it a try. Since I am in China I also threw in some sichuan pepper corns, which has a nice citrus-like spiciness...

    Wort and Whisky

I am sure I am not the first one to get this idea, because it's damn tasty, but a search on this forum gave me no results so I hope I am not the only one who is doing this: What is better after a brewing day than a cup of hot wort with whisky? (great use for the wort you used for the...

What to make with 100L Crystal Malt?

Since I am in a country with no real homebrewing culture yet, I am struggling to find ingredients. Through a local brewer I can get 2-row pale malt and 100L crystal malt (so I am brewing all grain) , and now I am wondering what styles of beer I could make with only these two ingredients...
