I am looking for a Perlick 500 series tap. i have two other 500's and dont want to use the 600 as the Perlick "P" uses a different font then the 500 series. I realize they dont make them any more but was hoping someone had one available?
I have a 630SS that I would be willing to trade...
I assume they are all gone? I just need one to replace the 600 series Perlick that continues to trouble me! - I have two other 500 series and one 600 series - don't like the 600 series.. at least the one I have has given me trouble with dripping! Plus they changed the "P" on the facet! The...
The beers that I have brewed with the Mangrove Jack yeasts have turned out pretty good!
So far I have used the M44 in three batches. Fluctuation is good - attenuation is also good . Is it better then US-05 for a dry yeast ... not sure - pretty similar results.
I have also used M15 Empire...
Well I kicked the keg of Pale Ale and it was tasty! It was a mix of hops will need to do a SMASH beer with the PEKKO to really understand its flavors ...
Pekko looks like a good bitter and aroma hop for pale ales and ipa's. At least from my current experience!-)
I used M44 this past weekend for the first time. I did a batch of Pale Ale to try it out. I got this yeast at the AHA conference in Baltimore. So anyway I never used it but I see all the references to slow starts! I chilled my wort to about 60 degrees F and aerated it before pitching (direct...
I too went to BrewCon 2016 (dumb name) and got some of the Pekko samples also. I just brewed an ale with a few ingredients that I got as samples at the conference.
4 kg Maris Otter
1 kg Vienna
.360 kg caramel rye (a sample from the show!)
1 oz 60 Pekko
1 oz 15 Citra
7gm Nelson...
I agree with the approach that if the water tastes good use it! BUTT (and that is a big BUTT) water can make the beer - especially with certain styles! So as you become a better brewer you start watching more aspects of the process - fermentation temps - Water Chem - PH...
So learn as you go...
So Andy6026 how did that turn out? I have a interest as I just brewed a batch yesterday and used the same yeast ... so I am curious as to your success? (assuming you may have already or are getting ready to keg\bottle)
Also what temp you maintained? for the first week? If you don't...
I have made dog treats but I do all grain and can only make so many Biscuits for the boys! I compost most of the grain.
They are really good for Blueberry and Azalea bushes both like acidic soil which make spent grain a great mulch for them but would not use it directly on anything else.
Beer fest at Fordham & Dominion Brewery!! If I can't Brew on the weekend I can at least drink good beer! Hope the Sun is out! kind of chilley here in Delaware this weekend.
