iodorphor is good, but you can simply just boil water in it to sanitize also.

i've been using my boil kettle as a bottling bucket my last few batches and wondered why i didn't do this earlier.
it will be fine in the secondary for a bit, and yes, ales can benefit from sitting.
many people leave their beers in a secondary for months.
but it all depends on the type of beer also, a pale ale can lose some of its hop aromas the longer it sits.
but dont fret over it if its only a few...

it moves slow, but meh, its pluggin away and it moving still.
I just degassed at around half-way. should be all you need to do. atleast skeeter pee is cheap

i think there is a Gelatin post "How-To" on here somewhere. I've done it before and has worked pretty well.
be sure to cold crash it with the gelatin to maximize its results.

and no, the odds are the external push/pressure kept everything out of your fermenter.
you are fine, clean it up and continue as normal.
clog is the culprit.
