    Why corn sugar?

Brown sugar and golden sugar can do interesting things. And for those who are willing to add $10-20 a batch for something new and interesting, Maple sugar will blow your hair back. I avoid corn Sugar, because I avoid GMO. And generally, for me, the more refined a sugar is, the more likely it...

Is it me or my keg?

I sell Corni Kegs. here is what I have learned from experience and customer anecdote. 1.) They do get leaky. Pro tip - buy some food safe O-ring conditioning lube. It's the white, greasy stuff. Whenever you finish cleaning and sanitizing, condition your lid O-ring with just enough to make...

    balloon for an airlock?

Remember, CO2 is poisonous and can be deadly. On more than one occasion, people have passed out from it, leaning into Keezer set ups like yours, and been found that way, quite dead. CO2 Poisoning kills 10-40 people a year in North America, and those are the cases that are correctly...

No more RO water, what to use now

There are several brands of Low Flow RO systems that are quite affordable....under $400 retail. If you shop around and buy it in pieces, you might get in for less than $200. If you build a proper sanitary reservoir for it[kegs work for this, if you know how to disinfect them correctly], then...

Is Starsan good desinfectant? (spolier: no)

Hi Gang, I have been doing a lot of research on Sanitizers and Disinfectants in the past few weeks, understandably. We got a few new chemical concentrates in, and I was also blowing the dust off some old stock. I have learned a lot, and there is still a tone to learn. As to the arguments of...

    Intertap beer faucets

"Raising boys is easy. You seal them into a barrel and feed them through the bung-hole. When they turn 18, you decide whether to let them out, or drive in the bung." - Robert Heinlein

    Intertap beer faucets

I work at a wholesale commercial equipment distributor that shall remain nameless. I sell all manner of devices for this purpose. Best bet and least hassle is In-Line Shut Offs, and Combination padlocks.

Show us your sculpture or brew rig

I designed these two Custom Beasts for Steamboat Springs, which I formally submit as "Sculptures". The upper Unit I have named "The Bow-Tie" The Lower I call the Dragonfly. The lower is technically 3 Towers, but they were sized and designed to work together, within the specific design of the...

    "Nitro" Coffee

A word of Caution; Mixed gas cylinders don't actually mix worth a doggone. Occasionally, you will find a Gas Provider that installs a perforated dip tube, that is engineered to get you a mix that will be, mostly, within the range it professes to be. Mostly.... If you do want to experiment with...

QUESTION: Stout faucet for nitro beer and cold-brew coffee?

Honestly, even the tanks don't work well. bottom line is that CO2 stores as Liquid and N2 as a compressed gas. Tanks only mix correctly if they have a perforated dip tube. this can be nearly as expensive as a blender. Best bet is to watch ebay/craigslist/kijiji for a McDantim or Micro Matic...

    Jockey box considerations

Price is right for a quality box. Cold plate vs coil vs long coil all depends on storage temp. If kegs are 32-45°F, cold plate is great. 45-55°, 60' coil or double pass in cold plates. Keg above 55°, 120 foot coils only. Cooler type is purely an aesthetic decision, so long as it is a quality...
