    Early kegging?

I've done 3x 5 gallon batches starting with tree top apple juice and US-A05, letting them go for 3 weeks. The first one I did was in the spring and it probably went from 65 to 70f daily (brewed in a closet). The last 2 I did this winter so it was a constant 65f (digital space heater in a...

    Arduino Based Keezer

After several months I can report that I haven't had any issues with the flow sensors affecting the beer, but I've been flushing the lines quite a bit with each keg swap and no keg has lasted more than 2 months. The sensors aren't very accurate for 1oz pours, but if you pour 6oz or more it's...

    Arduino Based Keezer

I haven't noticed a difference. If it does affect the taste it would probably only be for the ounce that is in contact with it, and it gets diluted across a whole beer. Maybe my palate isn't sensitive enough, or maybe it isn't happening.

I had never seen one either, but I do know how to code. I haven't tackled the temp sensor, I've been busy doing other things (*cough* drinking). lol. If you have any questions feel free to ask. If you want to see my sketch PM me your email address and I'll share it with you.

    Arduino Based Keezer

    1. I started with zero arduino experience, and very limited electronics experience (high school electronics class, a very long time ago). I started out by building everything one piece at a time, and learning how each component worked on the kitchen table before I was ready for final assembly...

Carpentry and assemble of keezer trim

I used mitered corners to assemble mine, wood glued the corners, and then put a 2x2 strip on the inside, and screwed through that to hold everything tight without putting any screws on the outside. https://www.dropbox.com/s/exwhaxlyuw1sqsk/2013-04-01%2017.41.39.jpg

Keezer collar build - is insulation necessary?

Interesting. I have mine in the house in Seattle and have quite a bit of condensation even with a dehumidifier inside the freezer. A couple times I've had to use a rag to dry up the moisture on the floor of the freezer. For me the kegs don't come up to the collar either, but the taps do and...

Keezer collar build - is insulation necessary?

Sure, here's the thread where I posted progress as I built it: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/arduino-based-keezer-401366 Here's the complete write-up I wrote after the fact: http://www.andrewparisio.com/2013/04/arduino-based-kegerator-keezer-build.html

Keezer collar build - is insulation necessary?

Both the name, and what's remaining (Rotating through Ounces, Pints, and a percentage graph) And when you pour something it tells you how much you poured. Here's a sample pic when I was building it (all the data was fake test data)

    Kegerator replace top?

Heh, yep. That way I know what is on which tap, and how much is left in the keg! I wrote about it here: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/arduino-based-keezer-401366

Keezer collar build - is insulation necessary?

I insulated mine most of the way around, with a couple spots that were bare around the electronics/taps. I can feel a (slightly) noticeable difference in temperature by touching the outside of the collar on insulated vs non-insulated spots, so I can say it certainly makes a difference. How...

    Kegerator replace top?

Lots of people have built a collar, I imagine somewhere somebody built a wooden lid. Just be sure to insulate it properly :) Here's what mine looks like.

    Arduino Based Keezer

Please do, if you have any questions about how I did anything let me know. I haven't actually worked on the temp sensors in a while, but everything else has been working great so far. The 2 kegs on tap are both down to 25% or so, so in a couple weeks i should have a pretty good idea of how...

    Arduino Based Keezer

I figured out the webserver, I had mapped the currently unused 3rd flow sensor to pin 51, which broke it. whoops. and for a write up of what i've done, which I will update once I finish the arduino, go here: http://bit.ly/10Vc7wX

    Arduino Based Keezer

After a week of use quite a bit of beer has been poured, but i don't know how much because it was crashing on most pours. I fixed that yesterday so going forward it should be accurate, but now I'm fighting with the temp sensors. These things are being a royal pita, and I can't figure them out...
