I am in. Haven't gone without for we'll over a year. Scored a 5 on the test. Day one was good, but if I didn't tell my wife I would not have done. I need some accountability.

I believe in brewery superstition. I love having a little "voodoo" involved in brew day. At the "Bible Belt Brewery" beers all are named after things that bug me about church. The beer only turns out if AC/DC plays while the beer chills.

I have been doing a split brew day in just this fashion. I dough in, mash, mash out and sparge to my keggle. By this time my 8 pm start has turned into 10:30 pm. I put a lid on the wort and hit the sack until about 5am. Turn on the kettle and finish the batch and clean up by 9:30am. Been all...
Are these two two kettle systems run on the same premis? Do they both continually recirculate the mash into the boil kettle?

Do you know anyone who has brewed with a well built electric RIMS, and then gone back to propane? Does anyone here wish they wouldn't have put in the money and the effort?
Thanks
Jon
Hey man
I am also a bottling BC brewer. I would give Dan's a call. Dan's Homebrew Supply is on the Downtown East side of Vancouver. They would be able to supply, or maybe point you in a geographically closer direction.
I was even born in PG.
We should hang out.

Did you forget the priming sugar? I brewed for years with bleach and rinse, and never had an issue. Iodophor and Starsan now... It takes less effort with no down side.

I have a bazooka screen in the bottom of my kettle. It works okay, but it doesn't stop the tiny hop bits, and it clogs at the end of transfer with break. I am thinking of getting a hop spider from stainless...
Strike water already in the kettle. Up at 4:30 to turn it on. Dough in 5:30. Cleaned up and take my son to soccer practice by 10. Love morning brews.:ban:
Thanks for the replies. So my best way forward balancing my wish for power, and my need to not ruin beer is to select which element...

Next week, I will have a 50amp plug on a 50amp gfci breaker in my garage. I large step closer to electric brewing. For the foreseeable long term, I will brew in a cooler and a keggle. My electrician neighbor (who works for beer) :mug: has said that he can create a rims controller that can be...
This is one of the most fun aspects of brewing for me. When I brewed on Vancouver Island, the garage was full of Black Widow Spiders (not a word of a lie) I was the "Black Widow Brewery" and all beer names were arachnid related. I sometimes have named beers after whatever awful thing happened on...
