For sale is a tri clover 1 1/2 inch three way valve. Purchased from Brewers hardware. Used for mockup of my new system only. Decided to go a different direction. Paid $65. Would like $55 shipped. Feel free to make offer.
Thanks. Look forward to playing with this later. I put 5 pounds of grain in my mash tun and have it circulating now just to try the system. Cool thing!
Thanks for the reply. To this point I have only batch sparged in a cooler. I didn't take a lot of time yet setting up the volumes you mentioned. I actually am only at the point of just running the new brewery on water and my first small grain batch. I have been using a cooler mash system for...
Just finished my rims system. Use brewsmith software for my brew day guide. It wants me to spare the mash. I assume I do not need to do this since I am circulating. My question is how much water do I use in my circulating mash. Should I use the pre boil volume the software gives?
I am in the process of designing a rims system to build. The first of many questions I have is, will my 1/2 copper manifold I use in my 10 gallon cooler work in my updated mash tun to draw the wort through to recirculate? Can any Rims users share their ideas or what they use.
Thanks
Why is everyone using 1/2 inch copper instead of 3/4 copper to make their manifolds? Is it a price thing or a flow problem I am not thinking of. Thanks
I used a biab bag after pulling wort out this time to rinse grain, still would not flow. When I warmed cooler up before mashing in, I noticed that the hot water was slow when draining. After removing grains do washing up the cold rinse water flowed fine. The hot just wouldn't flow.
I have a round 10 gallon cooler from lowes I have been using. It has a round stainless screen I purchased for a false bottom from a brew supplier. Used it to make maybe 6 batches. The last 2 batches the sparge stuck so bad I had to dip the wort out into a biab bag. I thought the hose was...
I am fermenting a kolsch with wlp029 yeast. It has been page ring for 10 days and I am about ready to bottle it. Do I need to warm it back up to the primary fermenting temp of 60 before I bottle it?
I am fermenting wlp029 in the cooler to clear it up. I am ready to bottle it. Do I need to warm it back up to the primary fermenting temp of 60 before I bottle it?
Thanks
In order to do a 5 gallon batch, would you recommend just cutting the original recipe in half? It seemed close to a 10 gallon batch. Thanks. Still trying to figure out the recipe stuff instead of the biab stuff.
Thanks. When I look at some of the recipes they mention 6 gallons of water. Is this the amount you should ferment or the amount to start the brewing process?
Crutch brewing is the name.
When we started our first brew the only thing we could find long enough was the bottom end of an old crutch. Hense crutch brewing
This was my first attempt at my own recipe for an all grain brew. The 2 other brews I did were all grain brew in the bag purchases that went well. This was a copy of the first, American pale ale. This batch seemed to have much more sediment at the bottom of the ferment bucket. Would using...
