I know it may sound crazy; but, fish are much more temperamental about water than wort. This is only me thinking out of the box; I have never tried these products; nor, am I suggesting you use them. I'm just pointing out that they are out there on the market. What you do with them is on you. :D...

Cottonseed Hulls instead of Rice Hulls?

People use deer corn, sweetfeed, ect... to brew all the time(moonshine). These particular hulls I'm talking about are Lost Circulation Material(LCM) used for oilfield drilling. I'll take a pic of some. Residual oil? They are dry as a bone when harvested. I just though I would ask. I'm curious...

Other than the potash, From my reading, I think all these minerals are good for yeast. The idea for me was to be able to repeat the water conditioning process with same results.

Honestly, in Graham, TX there is no mention of RO, Simply"Filtered", I work in the oilfield and am on the road frequently. Recently, I have been getting water from Haskell, TX; and, it says on the side "RO water". Hmmm I emailed them to ask.

I don't know if this would help. I was thinking about asking the Pros here what they thought about adding this to RO water. Up here in N. Texas we have these little buildings called "Twice The ICE". I can get 5gal of RO water for $1. City water is way over chlorinated. Anyway, check this out...

Who said anything about arguing. I said I have a fermentation fridge. The original was brewed underground, so I figure mid 60's. Doesn't matter I have a fridge for that. Water temperature during prep was my question and he answered that. I will follow his instructions.

Thank you for your quick response. So just dump the package and mix? This is a "No Boil" recipe I'm assuming, only calls for warm water. The Extracts are already hopped. For Recipe #2 only the Muntons Amber extract will be hopped. The rice solids are not. (It's an experiment.. LOL) Looking at...

Hey guys, it's been a while. I have the necessary equipment and a fermentation refrigerator(must have in TX) set to go. I decided to try the recipe 2 different ways. Recipe #1 (5 Gal): Blue Ribbon alternative: Muntons Liquid Malt Home Brew Extract- Amber Hopped (1.5lbs)& Budweiser Red...

:off: Get this. The water used in this recipe was more than likely from the Hickory Aquifer which now we know contains Radium. Maybe my Great Grandfather was brewing Radioactive beer.

No response from Premier :( Thanks everyone, y'all are posting before I can finish a "reply". So my replies are somewhat out of order. Awesome! I'm thinking about mixing Coopers English Bitter canned extract & Coopers Lager canned extract as per @bleme. I haven't done the math on the...

This is good advice. Fortunately, I had no intention of making 10 gallons. Probably, 4 gal. in a 5 gal bucket. Taste is relative. I'm not saying your wrong, but, it's your opinion. Fact, home brews developed a bad reputation for taste during prohibition. My great uncle said their brew...

I have a friend whose dad is still alive and brews beer. I'll ask him what he knows about the extracts.
