    I'm finally in the club!

You don't have to clean the yeast :) I've just saved the slurry with some of the beer on top, and it's now fermenting another beer.

    Sweet Stout Deception Cream Stout

Not said too much, this is going to be a favorite! One week after bottling I couldn't resist :D Still too flat, but damn what a good beer.

    Sweet Stout Deception Cream Stout

Hi @julianz thanks :) I've brewed it 2 weeks ago with the Denny's Favorite as per original recipe. It has reached 1.022 and is stable, so I'm cold crashing it now and will bottle soon. It already tastes AWESOME! Usually I don't really like it pre-bottling, but this stuff is awesome :D Going to...

    I'm finally in the club!

Welcome to the club :) cool to see you so eager. It does pay off to be patient with beer. If you keg too early you may have unfinished beer. And thank you everyone for the yeast harvesting tips! I accidentally came across this post and I have been looking for good instructions on harvesting...

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

Think I can answer my own question, after more research think to only replace the 60min hops with Nugget and leave the Cascade hops. Sounds good? Thanks for the recipe!

Awesome looks great! Would it work with just Nugget hops? I've got a lot of them.

    Sweet Stout Deception Cream Stout

Wow I'm so excited to brew this one next weekend. Can't find the Wyeast in New Zealand in stock. Is WLP013 a good replacement? http://www.thebrewhouse.co.nz/beer/wlp013-london-ale Did anyone try a dry yeast? Danstar Windsor is listed as substitute?

Belgian Dark Strong Ale Westvleteren 12 Clone - Multiple Award Winner

I've bottled this one about 4 weeks ago, and had one last week, and it already tastes awesome!! Only brewed about 6L as the candy sirup is very expensive here. I can hardly wait to crack open another one. Should I wait to let it age more? What's the recommended bottle time?

First time Cider maker. Bit green, Go easy!

1-2 weeks usually. Just test SG, when it's stable and below 1.010 you're good.

Optimum chill time for bottle carbed cider?

Most of the cider kits come with sweetener. I've done 3 of them (Mangrove Jacks). All three turned out meh. I've stopped doing them. 4 weeks at 70f should be more than enough though.

TIPS and TRICKS for beginning home brewers

My pro tip is to cold crash with gelatin. My first BIAB was a hoppy beer, so a lot of trub. Tried to bottle the same way as kits, so ended up with a lot of trub in my bottles. They became fountains when opened. Get a fermentation fridge is a pro tip on its own, which allows you to do cold...

TIPS and TRICKS for beginning home brewers

Some other brewers advised against to squeeze the bag too much as that adds unwanted flavors in the beer? They advised only to do sparging; not to squeeze too much.

Swap Pacific Jade for Northern Brewer?

I want to brew this recipe: http://beersmithrecipes.com/viewrecipe/1657292/dupont-saison I do have the Styrian Goldings hops, but not the Pacific Jade. As they are bittering hops, thought to swap them with Northern Brewer (8.5%) as I still have enough of them. Would that be fine? Probably...

Optimum chill time for bottle carbed cider?

I'd say keep it chilled for a couple of days, should be fine. I've made a couple of ciders, didn't notice a big difference between chilling for hours, days or weeks to be honest.
