    Is my nugget okay?

There has been a development since the last time I posted so I figured it was worth coming back for an update. The little growth I had on my nugget began to wither and die, then after a big storm I came out and it was gone. I dug around and couldn't find the rhizome so I figured my nugget was...

Anyone using Center of Gravity Brewhouse?

I have wanted a tower for some time but have not purchased one because of the cost. Last night I got an email from Northern Brewer advertising the Center of Gravity™ Brewhouse. It looks like exactly what I've been wanting at a greatly reduced cost. Does anyone have any experience with this...

    Timelapse of Hop Growth

Anyone else feel really bad for the vine on the right? He looks so desperate, just looking around for something to hold on to. I get a "lost child" vibe like a kid in a Walmart that strayed around the toy section for too long and didn't notice that his mother had moved on to sporting goods...

    Is my nugget okay?

That is exactly how it happened for me. The nugget was the first up. Then it stalled.

    Is my nugget okay?

I have 3 hop varieties growing against the back of my detached garage. The cascade was given to me by a friend. He had a portion of his back yard overrun by them and the rhizome I planted hadn't taken. His replacement is doing just fine as you can see. The tettnanger was planted at the...

    Permanently Label Beer Bottles?

I am thinking of shelling out for some 33oz bottles and I am wondering if there is a way to permanently label them so that other home brewers I loan to won't try to wash off the labels and use my more expensive bottles for themselves. Does anyone know of a way to do this? I have seen etched...

Is the faucet on my sink sanitized?

Yeah that is the thing. I've been using the water to add to the carboy to top it off without sanitization. Like I said, it has never been a problem. I guess I've just been lucky perhaps.

Is the faucet on my sink sanitized?

I just realised that I've never made any effort towards sanitation when it comes to the faucet I get my water from. It has never posed a problem with my beer though. How come I have to sanitize everything else but not the faucet?

    Basement Brewing Proper Venting

The thing is I already have gas piped right up to where I wish to brew. I also have gas outside the house and I am trying to design my system so that it can easily be moved to and from each location. I've been doing a lot of research/shopping since my original post and I think I may want to...

Is natural gas safer than propane?

    Basement Brewing Proper Venting

I hadn't even considered steam. I'll do a little more shopping around for the hood. I want to make sure it'll suck up everything I don't want in the basement. The dehumidifier isn't too far away so hopefully that wouldn't be a huge issue. As for hooking up the natural gas it is something...

    Basement Brewing Proper Venting

I have a space set aside in my basement for doing my home brewing. It has ready access to water as it is adjacent to the laundry area. A large temperature controlled closet which I've already started using for fermentation. I will also eventually pipe in some natural gas but to start with...

Long time beginner looking to level up

My equipment is pretty simple, I have a propane burner, 5 gallon stock pot, 2 carboys, a bucket for bottling and then the hoses and other miscellaneous. I'm planning a trip to the local brewing supply store tomorrow and I'll chat with them about what type of equipment they recommend. I've...

    Just starting - with Questions!

I just recently moved and now have a great deal more space for brewing than I used to. This is a major motivator in wanting to improve. One of the biggest things I noticed right away is what a difference the water I'm using can make.

    Just starting - with Questions!

I'm going to repost this question to the beginners forum later on with more detail about what I've brewed, my current equipment and so on.
