Drip tray with drain into my keizer

I just acquired a keizer with multiple towers and the builder put in a drip trays that drain into the keizer through the lid. They had T connections between the drip outlets that drained into a container; presumably sealed. I completely rebuilt and cleaned the unit and when i pulled out the...

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

Zinc poisoning, toxic fumes... you know; if you have no kids and are not in a neighborhood or have livestock than you might not care... To burn off the galvanization you need a good strong torch to get the metal red hot and a be in a wide open, ventilated space. Google the welding forums if you...

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

I'm looking to build a strut stand but I don't want to use galvanized strut nor do I want to shell out for stainless strut. Has anyone found a good source for non-galvanized strut?

Has anyone tried "hop teas" to add bitterness?

ok so there would be utilization concerns... guess you'd need to boil down a larger amt or hop water, or just suck it up and get Isomerized Hop Extract

Has anyone tried "hop teas" to add bitterness?

or you could possibly try boiling a hop extract in a small amount of water. I'm assuming that you wouldn't have to worry about utilization...?

Hop extract for post fermentation bitterness correction

I should also state that I know I could get an already isomerized hop extract, but I was hoping to avoid that.

Hop extract for post fermentation bitterness correction

I recently brewed a lighter beer, and maybe it's because I've been drinking high abv/ibu beers, but I think there is not enough bitterness in the balance. The beer is done, and I want to add bitterness. I'm wondering if I can take a hop extract product (eg hop shot) and boil it in a small...

Can you Brew It recipe for Magic Hat number 9

You'll get some extra fermentation if you go right into the primary.. but between 3 and 5 would work. The intent of this beer is subtle apricot so I'd err on the light side. Best bet is to try a few different amounts in some small beer samples of a similar plain beer and scale to taste. All...

    Weldless brew stand.

I plan on building something similar, but using strut (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strut_channel). It's an order of magnitude stronger than what's needed. If you wanted to get fancier you could use an aluminum extrusion :)

    DIY Stir Plate Question

if your wires are hooked up right then it could be a busted pot. does the fan go faster if you connect it directly to power? If so I'd say get a new pot. I assume you used a 1/4w part.

My shamelessly cheap $12 DIY stir plate

Nice! What's nice about this is that you don't have much work to do other than mount the magnet AND you have speed control :) For my fist stir plate I just harvested a pc fan and slapped it on a variable transformer, both of which were dumpster parts. This is much cleaner!
