Which rpi are you using? I used one of the originals. It was very slow. I got an rpi2 and now it's lightning fast compared to the old one. Though the web page on a different computer was usually pretty quick. I don't know what to tell you if the remote computer is slow, too.

Try alt F4 instead of F11

There is a network icon for the wifi in the upper right corner. Click on it, select your network and enter your pass phase. You will then get network connection and the rest should work

I went high class with a tub from Wal-Mart. It works great! I have a 6" fan sucking it out.
